The Port Clinton Art Fair was held in downtown Higland Park, an upscale North Shore community 30 minutes north of Chicago on August 29 and 30. Featuring 260 international artists, the Port Clinton Art Festival was ranked as the number 3 art show in the country for 2008 by Sunshine Artist Magazine.
Although the weekend was quite cold, the crowds came just the same:
During the show, I worked on a new Mystic Portrait that I had started during the AFB Art Fair @ Woodland Park in Lexington, KY, 8/15 - 8/16/2009. Several patrons showed quite an interest in seeing me working on a piece and stated that they had a better appreciation of the work involved in the mixed media assemblages I displayed in my booth.
One of the wonderful things about doing a show repeatedly is the warm relationships that we develop with patrons who are collectors of my work as well as other art enthusiasts who always drop by. In fact, the crowds of highly interested art lovers and the great weather we had on Sunday made this a beautiful and successful show.
