This event combines good fine art with the wonderful ambience due to the beautiful gardens. The Village of Pinecrest has worked very hard in improving the venue and in having it become its center of culture. Results were amply clear. In its 8th year, the crowds were bigger than ever. More importantly, art lovers are coming not only from The Village of Pinecrest but also from surrounding communities due to the increase in the show's quality. The photo below shows the booth presentation for this art festival and the new piece I introduced-- Between Heaven and Earth: Poppies Nurtured by the Light--which received the First Place in Mixed Media award.

This art fair is always held the first full weekend of January and it launches the Winter Art Season in South Florida. This year that weekend fell on Jan. 1 & 2. Most artists thought we would not be seeing many patrons until late in the day on Saturday due to revelers being "wiped out" after the New Year's Eve festivities. As you see below, we were quite mistaken. The crowds were there as usual and they were in a festive and inquisitive mood! I presented two new pieces at this show: Gather Stars to Your Soul * Rekindle Fire Eternal and Birth Through Into Waters of Life Eternal.

Below are a few photos highlighting some of the juried fine art shows in which I participated during 2010.
Patron discussing art with Francesca at the Hyde Park Village Art Fair, Hyde Park, FL, April, 2010.

Booth at the Eastside Millennium Art Festival, Chicago, IL, June, 2010. The work received an Award of Merit.

Booth at the East Hampton Fine Arts Festival, Long Island, NY. This weekend was one of the hottest ever in New York, the highs were 101 F to 104 F. Even the usual cross breezes typical to the island were absent. It's amazing we were able to survive this show!

Several shots of the booth and of patrons at Art at the Glen, Glenview, IL, August, 2010

Booth at the Walt Disney World Festival of the Masters, Downtown Disney, FL, November, 2010, showing the two new assemblages that I presented in this show for the first time: Between Heaven and Earth: Iris Buds with Moon Shining and Between Heaven and Earth: Iris Buds with Sun Shining. One of the pieces from the Mystical Portrait Series--Mystical Portrait: Spirit View IX - Emergence received the Second Place in Mixed Media award. This honor was very special since all the artists participating were prior winners of top awards.

The uniqueness of the mixed media assemblages intrigues patrons interested in original fine art.
I'm continually told how the interaction of the carving, metalwork, rich coloration and three dimensionality makes this artwork "fascinating, stimulating, captivating, exciting, exquisite..." and how impossible it is to capture all the "magic" in a two dimensional medium like photography.
Thanks to all of you attending the various shows and visiting the website for your continuing support and feedback.
